There is a new PBA Pattern Sweeper Series staring on Suday 11-18-07 and will run through march. Check in starts at 12:30 pm, and the start time is 1:00 pm. This will be the same oil conditions that are used each week on the PBA Tour including the major patterns. There is a 1 in 5 cash ratio and it only costs $25 for a 4 game tournament. The tournament is in York, PA at the Colony Park Lanes North on Pensylvania Ave. off Route 30. Come out and support the PBA Experience in the York area.

I just wanted to update that I will be at the Wednesday night Pro-Am for the Lumber Liquidators Championship on Dec. 5th in Baltimore at 7:00 pm. I hope to see all of the current PBA stars. I got to meet a few of them in August when they were in York, Pa for the Eastern Region Open which happens the same weekend of the Bowler's Supply Trade Show. I got to meet Ryan Shafer, Chris Barnes, Tommy Jones, Brian Himmler, Brian Kretzer, Bill Oatman, Pete Weber, Bill O'Neill, Jim Tomek, Tom Baker, Dave D'Entremont, Michael Fagan, and Liz Johnson. I am hoping to talk with them about lane conditions and the transitioning of them. I have started to really work on my game and try to take it to the next level. There will be a 20 or so week tournament series in which there will be the same lane condition that is used on the PBA Tour that week as the tournament. I am going to bowl in them to get the experience on these conditions and some day bowl in a Regional Event or even a PTQ.
I just got a fury pearl drilled up this week, and earlier this year I had a Strike Zone and BVP - Sidewinder drilled to help me with the different lane condiditons. But, this week I decided to start practice with my older Impulse Zone because it was working good on Wednesday when I was practicing. I am glad I used it because I managed to throw the first 10 strikes, and on the 11th ball I left a solid 4-9 spilt. I was able to convert the split for a 288 game which is the first one of that type of game that I have ever had. I kept adjusting the second game and was on another high scoring pace, and over adjusted in the 10th frame by leaving the 2-8-10 split. I ended up having a 222 game. I then pulled out my Fury Pearl for the last game and BOOM, a SOLID 8 pin. I continued to throw a spilt, strike and BOOM another SOLID 8 pin. I kept striking for the next few frames and ended up finishing with a 223 game. That makes a 733 series for the night, and brought my average from 215 to 219. I finished the past 2 years with a 218 average in which we bowl at 5 different bowling alleys. I will continue working on getting better by learning what my new aresenal of Strike Zone, Sidewinder, Total Inferno, and Fury Pearl along with my Impluse Zone. I will post another blog if I have another exciting story.
