This weekend in my hometown area of York, PA there was a tournament where there was 2 days of 6 games at 2 different bowling alleys to qualify for the 12 person final which follows next week as match play. There were 48 bowlers in the tournament. After 6 games on day 1, I was sitting in 8th place at +221. And after 6 games on day 2, I finished in 7th place at +216 for the day, and +437 for the tournament. Next weekend is match play with 6 games each on the 2 days with a bonus of 30 for winning the game. This has been a continuation of good bowling this calendar year. In January, I qualified 3rd with a +224 score for 6 games at a local tournament and I was only 11 out of the lead. There were 17 people in the tournament. Then, I beat the 4th place person in stepladder finals, but lost the next game to finish 3rd (241-237). Then, 2 weeks ago I qualified 1st with a +343 for 6 games, but lost the title match after tying with a 259 game and losing in a roll-off (59-39). There were 27 people in the tournament. I currently have a 229 average in a travel league where we bowl at 5 different houses. I am the 5th bowler on the team, and I have lost all 3 games only 1 time so far this year out of 28 weeks with 4 more weeks to go. I will post an update next week with my scores from the York County Match Game Tournament.
